Neighbourhood Plan

We're working on the preparation of the Plan now. As part of this, we want to hear your views about the future of our area. The content of this public consultation is derived from the responses to our first consultation, which was completed by more than 300 people.

Five themes emerged; Housing Amenities and Well-being, Green Spaces, Natural Habitats and Countryside, Community Transport Infrastructure. This is an opportunity for everyone in our community to have their say; children, students, families, residents of all ages, business owners, people who work in the Parish, local groups and visitors. More than one response per household is welcome, each person can complete their own form. Get your copy here.

Muller Homes - Public Enquiry Latest (24/10/14)

Following the Public Inquiry in February, it was expected that the Planning Inspector would publish his decision by 18 July 2014 in respect of Muller Homes’ applications on land between Audlem Road/Broad Lane and Peter de Stapleigh Way.  The matter was referred to the Secretary of State who then announced that he would make his decision on 1 September 2014.
On 1 September 2014, the Secretary of State then stated that he was unable to meet this revised date and would issue his decision “in the near future”.
Sandy Gwinn-Freemantle, Chairman of the Parish Council, said “We are disappointed that there is yet a further delay.  Parish councillors, along with residents are most anxious to have this matter finalised; the delay is unsettling.“

Neighbourhood Planning Latest (24/10/14)

As many of you will be aware, there was a special Parish Meeting held on 29 September to decide if the Parish Council should lead the process of preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for the area, which will comprise Stapeley and Batherton. The meeting was well-attended and there was overwhelming support for the preparation of a Plan....

New Neighbourhood Planning Website

  • Our area of Cheshire East has been subjected to many unwarranted and inappropriate planning applications,

  • Many rejected applications are being won on appeal,

  • There’s a perception that planning is out of our hands,

  • There’s a perception that we have no direct voice in the future of our community.

Here’s where Neighbourhood Planning will help us, give us as loud a voice as local government and developers.
